recollections of an artist

This week’s song of the week has been playing in my background for the last week or so.  I love how the lyrics act like these brief statements that make up a whole.  Nothing is really embellished and bluntness is the overall tone.  A lot simply doesn’t need to be said.  And rhyming appears to be one of the only requirements. With that said, I’ve never been great at rhyming, but I think some short descriptors are just the thing I’m looking for to write this post.

These last few weeks I have been quiet as a mouse, both on here and in life.  A lot has happened during my quiet hiatus.  A birthday, new faces, successful and failed artworks, losing internet service (Verizon really doesn’t like it when you forget to pay your bill) and getting internet service restored.  All of these things are like tabs in a binder that help me to review the events of the last few weeks. No single event solved my life.  Or tore it apart.  Complicated it maybe.  And definitely simplified it.  Almost brought me to tears.  As well as filled me with gratitude.  Exciting new artwork.  Snow.  Did I mention the scissor wound?  Saying I love you.  With a smile on my face.  Because when I wear it, I feel cute.
